FREE INTRODUCTORY WORKSHOP
Term: One evening (2 hours)
Tuition: Free
If you
ever thought you were funny, you were absolutely right! This introductory
workshop explains exactly what we mean. Being "funny" is not a special ability
of gifted people; it's an easy-to-learn skill that can be taught to anyone. This
free workshop introduces you to a tool called the Joke Diagram; a proven formula
that illustrates the structure of every joke or funny story you have ever heard.
Also covered in this intro is an overview of the workshops offered through the
Comedy College, including the infamous Performance Workshop, a six-week series
that ends with you taking the microphone at the San Jose Improv or the Eureka
Theatre, proving what you already know is true: You are funny!
Come to this free
seminar. Meet teacher and SFCC founder Kurtis Matthews who will talk you through
the Joke Diagram, illustrated by numerous examples from films and famous
comedians from the last 90 years. This interactive presentation is fun, funny
and informative. And, sometimes there are free snacks. Where else can you go to
receive free comedy instruction and still get bad nutrition all for one low
price of nothing?
Just for showing up, you will receive: (1) an introduction to the Joke Diagram
technique, (2) Rehearsal Technique and why it is critical (3) an overview of all
SFCC workshops and events, and (4) some cavity producing sugary product.
