SAN FRANCISCO COMEDY COLLEGE WELCOMES HEADLINER JOE KLOCEK AS ITS NEWEST
STAND-UP COMEDY TEACHER
Veteran Bay Area comedian brings years of experience as a local favorite
The San Francisco Comedy College (SFCC), one of the top three
largest comedy schools in America, is happy to announce national headliner and
local favorite Joe Klocek as its newest stand-up comedy instructor. Joe's
liberal point of view and wry observations have made him a favorite among local
audiences. "Since many of the comedians who work with us are focused solely on
building careers within the Bay Area, it is only natural that we should find a
great teacher who excels here, knows the local politics and can guide new
comedians to succeed in this market," says Kurtis Matthews, founder of the SFCC.
In 1991, Joe started performing at open mics at the legendary Holy
City Zoo in San Francisco, quickly earning both paid work and respect as a fresh
talent in the local community. A finalist in Comedy Central's 2002 Laugh Riots
contest and a runner up in the 2003 International San Francisco Comedy
Competition, Joe has worked with many well-known comedians, including Dave Atell,
Greg Proops, Kevin Nealon and Robin Williams. For more information about Joe,
go to www.joeklocek.com. Joe's specialized knowledge of the local comedy scene
and years of experience will help SFCC students become the most powerful
performers they can be.
The SFCC currently trains between 80 and 130 new comedians a
month in San Francisco, Sunnyvale and San Diego, and prides itself on updating
its curriculum and preparing students to compete in the larger comedy markets of
Los Angeles and New York. Joe will be instrumental in helping the SFCC maintain
its success and add another level of instruction for the seasoned comedians who
work with us. "I'm totally excited about joining the SFCC and helping people
succeed," says Joe. For more information, contact the SFCC at (415) 921-2051 or
