SFCC to Train the New Talent Pool at the San Jose Improv

America’s Best Comedy School Returns to the San Jose Improv After a five-year absence from the South Bay comedy club scene, the SFCC has renewed its alliance with the San Jose Improv and is again the official comedy school at the renowned comedy club.  “We’re thrilled to welcome back the SFCC to the San Jose Improv,” says manager Jim Smith. “We look forward to seeing the latest talents to emerge from their professional training.” In addition to the month-long master class offered Sundays at noon, which prepares comedians for a national or regional career, the SFCC will host its New Talent Show on a monthly basis on Saturday afternoons, giving the newest graduates of the professional program stage time at the San Jose Improv.  Over the past decade, the SFCC has offered the best stand-up training in the Bay Area, becoming the largest stand-up school in America, cultivating new comedians who have revitalized the local comedy market and have won a majority of the comedy competitions in the Bay Area. In the last few years, HBO has auditioned comedians at the SFCC for its renowned Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, SFCC CEO Kurtis Matthews was featured on BBC Northern Ireland’s television show, Find Me The Funny and the Late Show with David Letterman has held auditions at the SFCC, recognizing it as the place to look for new talent in the Bay Area.
